Question: I’ve heard the rates for national living wage and national minimum wage have increased. Is that right?
Answer: Yes that is correct. From 1 April 2019 the new rates are as follows:
Workers aged 25+ – £8.21 per hour (up from £7.83)
Workers aged 21-24 – £7.70 per hour (up from £7.38)
Workers aged 18-20 – £6.15 per hour (up from £5.90)
Workers aged 16-17 – £4.35 per hour (up from £4.20)
Apprentices – £3.90 per hour (up from £3.70)
